Basecamp

Basecamp is a web-based tool that lets you manage and track projects (or simply ideas) and quickly create client/project extranets. Over 1,000,000 people signed up.

Basecamp was one of the pioneers of Web 2.0 user interface design. It introduced many things which are very common now, From draggable and sortable lists to Fading techniques, they all were introduced here. A lot of Web 2.0 applications still have look which the guys at 37ignals introduced. Their philosophy of “Less is more” is truly reflected in their applications and their design which is not only user friendly but also helps getting things done.
